Ricky Anderson's dreams have taken him a long way. Today he is the President of Go Ricky Motivational Services and a sought after speaker in demand year round by organizations and community groups. It's not a future he would have predicted after following friends to a boxing gym in Halifax's north end where he grew up.
In the gym, Ricky soon discovered he had a talent for the sweet science that quickly propelled him to the top of the amateur boxing world. After winning a gold medal in the North American Championships and silver medals in two world championship competitions, he turned pro and at
the height of his professional career, he captured the prestigious Canadian Welter-Weight title and was subsequently inducted to the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame.
Not only was Ricky a successful athlete, he attained a university degree in Sociology from St. Mary's University in Halifax while pursuing his full time boxing career. Since leaving the ring, Ricky has worked as a drug prevention specialist and a television sports broadcaster with the
Atlantic Television Network.
These days Ricky enjoys spending time with his family and developing motivational presentations. His passion is helping people turn their dreams into reality.
